AutoSave Essentials automatically backs up your digital life to provide peace of mind and security against PC crashes and viruses
18th November 2008
Computers are a focal point of our digital lifestyle. Photos and favourite memories of good nights out are saved and shared; music too is downloaded and saved onto your computer. So why do so few of us bother to protect ourselves from virus attack and risk losing it all?
AutoSave Essentials is a new piece of software that automatically detects, stores and archives essential computer files to protect users against PC crashes or accidental deletion. Music, photos, videos and other files with a sentimental or financial value can all be securely saved to the best available storage location, removing the risk of losing priceless photos, once in a lifetime videos or an entire customised music collection.

Avanquest Software, a leading developer and publisher of business and consumer software for the global PC market, has released AutoSave Essentials to relieve PC users of the arduous process of manually creating copies of their favourite files. Users can choose from ready made backup plans or create their own, defining favourite file types, including photos, emails, financial records, music, videos, web-settings or contacts. These are automatically saved to the best available storage destination or an alternative selected by the user.
Back-up plans can be scheduled as often as desired and run seamlessly and continuously in the background, using a ‘Smart Back-up Engine’ to ensure that PC usability is unaffected. The plans are completely customisable and the user is able to save a variety of files to different designated storage locations, including an external hard drive, USB pen, network drive, FTP, local hard drive or archive to CD, DVD and Blu ray disc.
AutoSave Essentials monitors and stores any new or recently changed files, including those being edited in real time, to ensure a back-up is always up-to-date. A ‘Smart Back-up Tracking Mode’ detects if the storage device has been disconnected, memorising all file modifications and creating duplications ready for backup as soon as it is available. This is especially useful for laptop users on-the-go, while also saving battery power by disabling back-ups if not connected to a power outlet.
A story board video can be viewed online and a free trial version of AutoSave Essentials is available for download at http://www.save-my-documents.co.uk.
