"I just wanted to share with you my experience of using a program which has made my life a little easier. It is called Virtual Disc Drive, and it allows you to create images of software CD-ROM and DVD discs and save those images onto the hard drive of your PC. The beauty of it all is that this means you don't need to have the CD/DVD in question in the drive to run a game or other program. Just load the disc image into a virtual CD/DVD drive, run it as you would a normal CD/DVD by double clicking on it) and away you go! This "disc virtualisation" program is not limited to multi disc games. You can use it with any program which would ordinarily require you to have a disc in the drive whilst running the program, such as multimedia-rich encyclopaedias. The only limit to the number of disc images you can create is how much hard drive space you have, and in most modern machines this shouldn't be too much of an issue. Even an older computer could have a fairly inexpensive second hard drive connected (either internally or externally) for extra storage space. You can also create multiple virtual disc drives and load different disc images into them. You can even create keyboard shortcuts to your virtual disc so that when a program asks you to insert a particular disc into a drive, you just press the keyboard shortcut (such as ALT+F2)which loads the virtual disc instantly and off you go. The program in question just acts as if you had inserted the disc as requested."
