Drafting & Detailing
TurboCAD’s complete set of drawing, editing, and modification tools, along with annotation tools, help you quickly draft and document your designs with outstanding flexibility. What-if analysis is made easy with constraints and is a tremendous time saver as you iterate designs. Users can also script and define parametrically driven objects. Use in conjunction with the Drafting Palette to accelerate all levels of the design and detailing process. Support for Surfaces has been added so now the drafting palette can be used for architectural drafting as well.

Practical Architectural Tools
Speed design with the extensive collection of parametric object types and shapes for walls, doors, windows, stairs, slabs, and railings. New improvements make accurate placement of these architectural objects even easier. The improved Style Manager lets you create and manage how objects are defined, look and behave. It now offers support for creating multi-component walls that you can use with the wall tool. The Style Manager also includes additional, pre-configured styles. Plus, you can manage data more accurately with dynamic window and door schedules and use the new Sections/Elevation tool to examine custom cross sections of architectural designs.

Complete File Compatibility and Interoperability
TurboCAD Pro has always offered excellent file compatibility. Nearly 40 industry standard CAD and graphic formats are supported, including native AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT files (DXF/DWG), now with the ability to export XREFs. Google SketchUp support has also been greatly enhanced, and export to SketchUp (.SKP) file format has been added. A new Database Connect Palette has also been added allowing TurboCAD Pro users to set up a data link to any data source.

Advanced Drawing Tools
TurboCAD includes over 40 line, arc, curve and spline tools and over 50 Editing and Modication tools; so that no matter the situation you’ve got the right tool for the job. When used with TurboCAD’s snaps, SEKE’s (Single Entry Key commands), dimensions and drawing aids you’ll be able to quickly draft and document your designs with outstanding flexibility.

Constraints
What-if analysis is made easy with 2D geometric and dimensional constraints and is a tremendous time saver as you iterate designs. Apply relationships between two or more objects for accurate designs which can then be adjusted easily. Make a change to one object in a design, and constraints automatically update the drawing based on the user defined parameters. When used in conjunction with TurboCAD’s linear and radial copy tools, constraints allow you to instantly modify entire sets of patterned objects commonly used in mechanical design. Additional constraint options are included in the TurboCAD Pro Mechanical and Platinum Editions.

Select Copy & Editing Tools
TurboCAD comes equipped with tools to allow you to quickly select objects by type, colour, entity type, attribute, query, fence or by layer. Coupled with TurboCAD's array & copy tools, you’ll save copious amounts of time editing your design. Annotation Tools

Block Attributes
A block attribute is dynamic AutoCAD®-style informational text associated with a block that you can enter whenever you create or insert a block. TurboCAD reads, displays, and allows you to modify block attributes obtained from any AutoCAD drawing (DWG) and DXF files.

NEW XREF Manager
NEW XREF Manager is built in to the Block Palette, managing external references in your TurboCAD drawing more effectively. XREFs can also be exported with DWG or DXF drawings for greater AutoCAD® file compatibility.

Hatches Patterns and Line Styles
Apply hatch patterns by object or pick-points to add the finishing touches to your production drawings. Create your own Hatch vector and raster based hatch patterns and gradient fills with the Brush Styles Editor.

Render Styles and Style Editor (NEW)

TurboCAD Pro now includes preset Render Styles that optimize dozens of settings for specific effects, photorealistic or non-photorealistic (such as oil painting and mosaic). The Render Style Editor allows for unlimited new styles to be created for one-click access to a particular style from project to project.

Publishing, Productivity and Reports

Drafting Palette (IMPROVED)
TurboCAD Pro’s Drafting Palette is exceptionally powerful and unique and expedites the drafting-to-detailing process. It creates associative 2D sections based on standard views or sectional planes of 3D surface or ACIS® solid models, including XREFs. You can even create nested, associative sections (i.e., cross-sections of cross-sections). The 2D views may be placed in paperspaces (layouts), hatched, dimensioned, and annotated. Because they are associative, if the model is changed, or the section plane is updated, the 2D profiles, hatches, and fills are also updated automatically.

Dynamic Viewports
Viewports have two components: a boundary and the view that it contains. Any update of the view is instantly applied to the viewport. Viewports can be independently scaled and displayed in hidden line draft and quality rendered modes.

Desktop Customization
TurboCAD’s desktop interface is completely customizable. Add command to any toolbar. Pop-up toolbars let you assign your most used tools to the local menu (right-mouse click), saving you from spending time navigating endlessly to use a tool.

Database, Reports, Tables (IMPROVED)

Architectural Tools

Style Manager for Architectural Designs (IMPROVED)
Customize or modify styles and parameters for architectural object types, schedules, text and dimensions (both AEC and non-AEC) down to the last detail. Define a style guide and manage how objects are defined, look and behave. Use styles to instantly change the appearance and attributes any or all common architectural objects . TurboCAD now offers additional styles pre-configured for Windows, Doors, Stairs, Slabs, Rails, Tables and Text, instead of just one, for greater flexibility. Plus, walls are now supported.

New in version 16, TurboCAD now supports custom Dimension and Text styles created in AutoCAD .DWG drawing. These styles are automatically extracted from an imported DWG drawing and saved into the Style Manager under the appropriate section.

Sections/Elevation Tools (NEW)
Create sections and elevations of any 3D object - horizontal, vertical or user defined. Great for examining custom cross sections of buildings.

Schedule Table
Adding a window or door into a drawing dynamically updates the schedule. Also includes support for walls and slabs. User has complete control over how text will appear.

Walls
Walls automatically create openings for parametric doors and windows. TurboCAD also offers a host of supporting tools for walls.

• NEW Multi-Component Walls - Walls can be made to understand all components that make up that wall like inside and outside sheet rock, insulation, wire mesh, stucco, etc., even it’s association with the foundation. Properties like brush style and colour can also be added to each component. Store it as a single entity, and if you extend the wall, the foundation and everything associated with it will extend.
• Wall Dimension tool – Quickly assign dimensions to any straight wall, including dimension thickness. Place dimensions in parallel or at any angle from the wall.
• Join/Split/Modify/Dimension Walls – Intelligent walls automatically join, intersect, and split when placing a door or window and even update dimensions automatically after you edit them.
• Intelligent Walls – Self-healing intersection and ends help quickly layout floor plans.
• Convert to wall – convert existing lines, polylines, circles and curves into walls.

Doors and Windows (IMPROVED)
TurboCAD lets you simply drag-and-drop parametric doors and windows into self-healing walls. This operation is made even easier with placement, editing, and measuring enhancements. Choose from hundreds of possible combinations of architectural styles and materials.

Stairs (IMPROVED)
Stairs can be created in just 3 clicks and are fully parametric. Choose from straight, multi-landing, spiral, and U-shaped styles. Specify material, stair dimensions and more. Now get easier editing of Stair properties with the added ability to edit the Stair's height.

Railings (IMPROVED)
This parametric object type lets you define hundreds of rail types for stairs and balconies and set location, post position, and extension parameters. Now TurboCAD offers the ability to attach railings or banisters to both sides of a set of stairs at once.

Slabs (IMPROVED)
Increase architectural design capabilities with parametric slabs, particularly for multi-level structures. The ability to cut holes in slabs is also supported. Now an offset field has been added that eliminates gaps between floors and rooms.

Intelligent Roofs
Intelligent roofs let you alter the pitch, add skylights, move items, change materials and self heal after a move.

Terrain
Place your design on a hillside or uneven terrain. Create terrains from scratch by importing Triangular Irregular Network (TIN) data from standard file formats. Even create terrain objects from selected points.

AEC Styles
Allows you to modify or customize your architectural objects down to the last detail.

Database Connect Palette (NEW)
Now, set up a data link to any data source (ODBC database, Excel, CSV, SQL, Access, Oracle, Sequel Server…) on either your local machine or company network. Since the data source remains outside of TurboCAD, the drawing file size is not affected maintaining performance. Reference data in a TurboCAD table as well as data associated to objects. DWG/DXF Import/Export (IMPROVED)

Google SketchUp File Import/Export (IMPROVED)
The SketchUp (SKP) file import filter has been greatly enhanced in TurboCAD v16. Not only is more information about the SketchUp model now successfully imported into TurboCAD, but supplemental rendering, lighting and materials information is imported if the SketchUp model has been rendered with IMSI/Design's IDX Renditioner product, a plug-in to SketchUp. Now you can also save your TurboCAD models in the native SketchUp (.SKP) file format, allowing you to seamlessly import your designs into Google SketchUp.
