1. How does Safe Passwords work?
You create a Safe Passwords account and then start visiting your favorite sites. Safe Passwords will offer to store the password and login information the first time you login to any account. The next time you visit a site you will be automatically logged in. No more having to remember all of your different passwords and user ids.
2. High-level Security
Passwords stored in your Safe Passwords account are protect with the same level of encryption used by the governments and major private corporations. Your passwords are safe! Your master password is the key that unlocks the encryption and gives you access to your passwords. The master password is known only to you and it is the last password you will ever need to remember.
3. Access your passwords from your phone, tablet or computer
Safe Passwords works on Chrome, Firefox and IE browsers as well as Apple and Android tablets and smart phones. You will be able to access your passwords from your computer, smart phone or tablet. Changes to your account are automatically synced ensuring you always have access to your most current passwords from any device.
4. Wallet for securely storing credit cards
Safe Passwords has a Wallet feature which allows you to securely store you credit cards. Next time your shopping on-line Safe Passwords will offer to complete the credit card fields with whichever of your stored cards that you would like to use.
Auto-filling your credit card number is a more secure way to shop online as you will not have to be concerned about keyboard loggers. Your credit cards will be protected in the same encrypted file as your passwords.
5. Securely share passwords with colleagues and friends
Sharing passwords via email, SMS or chats is not secure. Safe Passwords sharing feature allows you to securely share encrypted passwords. The recipient will not be able to edit the shared password and you can decide if they can see the password or if they can just use the login while keeping the password invisible.
6. Two Factor Authentication (2FA)
Two Factor Authentication, also known as 2FA, is an extra layer of security that requires not only a password and user name to log in to your account but also a unique security code. Safe Passwords 2FA can send codes via SMS or voice calls or codes can be generated with Google Authenticator. If you activate 2FA for your account you can also choose to remember a device for 30 days so the 2FA code is not required every time you login.
7. Import passwords stored in other programs
Yes, passwords stored in other password managers or in Excel files can be exported into a CSV format and imported into Safe Passwords. Safe Passwords has filters for importing from Dashlane, Lastpass, Roboform, 1Password, KeePass, Password Wallet or custom CSV files.
